Donut Rescue is a simple, lightweight device designed for the controlled lowering of Injured or Unconscious Personnel from an Offshore Installation when Conventional means are not possible. It allows an Trained able bodied Person the ability to lower a Casualty in either the Rescue Units own Harness or an Offshore Stretcher dependant on the Injury, from one Deck level down to another or direct to the Sea, were the Casualty can be locked off above the water awaiting rescue or assistance from below.
The Donut Rescue Units can be deployed at strategic locations throughout the Installation or carried in grab bags by the Fire/Emergency Response Teams in readiness for use.
As with the Donut Personal Controlled Descent Device minimal physical effort is required to control the descent of the Casualty to a safe location.
